Trailers that are specified properly, built in-house and inspected before they ever leave the yard.
01 · About Dori Trailers
Who you are dealing with
Dori Trailers is a South African trailer manufacturer and online-first seller. We build on one site in Bloemfontein, we sell directly to the people who use the trailers, and we deliver by insured freight rather than through a dealer network.
Everything we sell is built for how trailers are actually used here: corrugated gravel roads, long tows between provinces, extreme heat in summer and hard frost in winter. That shapes the steel thickness we choose, how we seal panels, how we route wiring and where we put service access.
We are an online-first business. You browse the range or send us a brief, speak with a specialist about specifications and pricing, and confirm your order remotely. Our Bloemfontein facility is a working build and dispatch yard, not a retail showroom, so we do not offer walk-in sales — every confirmed order is dispatched by insured freight to the address agreed with you.
When you call or email Dori Trailers, you reach the same team that fabricates, wires, fits and inspects the trailers. That is deliberate: the person answering your question about a door width or a fridge cut-out has usually stood next to that trailer.

02 · Our Story
Started on one frustration
Dori Trailers began with a problem we kept seeing: buyers paying real money for trailers nobody could explain — no drawings, no parts list, no record of what had been checked before delivery.
We started fabricating in Bloemfontein with one rule: a trailer only leaves our yard with a build record that matches the unit. That record lists the chassis, axles, suspension and coupler fitted, the equipment installed, and the checks signed off before dispatch. If a question comes back three years later, we can open the file and tell you exactly what was built.
Since then the range has grown to cover the four ways small and medium businesses move: food and beverage, sanitation and events, cargo and general haulage, and cold chain. Our fabricators, electricians, gas hands and refrigeration technicians work under one roof, so nothing on a trailer sits in a queue waiting for a third party to come back to us.
We are a South African, South African-run business. Every trailer we sell is built here, dispatched from here, and supported from here, and we deliver to customers in all nine provinces. The photographs on this page are AI-generated illustrative scenes, created to show the kinds of operations and experiences we support — but the build process they describe is the one we run.

03 · Our Mission & Values
Our mission & values
Our mission is simple: give every customer a trailer that has been specified honestly, built properly and checked before delivery — with the paperwork to prove it.
Our mission
To build mobile businesses that still work on their thousandth trading day.
Three principles guide how we run the business day to day:
Test, don’t assume
A trailer does not leave our yard on the strength of a look-over. Lights, brakes, couplings, gas, water and refrigeration are checked against a written pre-dispatch list, every time.
Say what we mean
Quotations, lead times, warranty terms and delivery fees are written in plain numbers, not “contact us for details”. If something changes mid-build, you hear it from us first.
Answer the phone
Quote requests, spec questions, delivery timing and warranty claims get a real answer from the team that builds the trailers, within 1-2 business days.
04 · Who We Serve
Who we serve
Because every order is dispatched by insured freight rather than collected in person, our customers are spread across the country and come from a few distinct groups.
Street-food & catering operators
First-time traders and small caterers who need a compact food trailer with a serving hatch, gas-ready kitchen and enough workspace to trade from day one.
Hospitality, retail & franchise groups
Businesses rolling out repeatable builds across sites, with consistent specifications, branding and equipment so every unit works the same way.
Municipalities, NGOs & event organisers
Sanitation trailers, mobile toilets and wash stations for public events, construction sites, festivals and community outreach programmes.
Transport, construction & agri buyers
Cargo trailers for tools, stock and deliveries, plus mobile chillers and freezers for produce, meat, dairy and cold-chain distribution.
Not sure which category fits you? Tell us what you sell, where you trade and how you tow, and we will narrow it down with you before you commit to anything. Ask a specialist.
05 · How We Build Every Trailer
How we build every trailer
Building a trailer is a four-stage process. Every unit we manufacture passes through all four stages in order, with no exceptions, before it is approved for dispatch:
- 01
Brief & layout
We start with what you will actually do with the trailer: what you serve or carry, where you trade, how you tow and what power or water you will have on site. You receive a written quotation and a layout drawing, and nothing is cut until you have approved both.
- 02
Chassis & fabrication
Steel is cut, jigged and welded into a braked chassis sized for the load, then treated and finished to resist coastal and inland conditions. Running gear, suspension, coupler, jockey wheel and lights are fitted and aligned.
- 03
Fit-out & finishing
Insulation, cladding, doors, hatches, stainless work surfaces, plumbing, electrical distribution, gas piping, refrigeration and branding are installed by our own trades. This is the stage that decides how a trailer feels after five years of use.
- 04
Inspection & release
The completed trailer is checked against a serialised build record, tested under power and water, weighed, and only then prepared for freight. Nothing is released for delivery with an open item on that list.

Nothing leaves without a record. Your trailer carries a serial number, and our file holds the parts list and the signed-off checks for that exact unit — not a generic spec sheet.
06 · Warranty & Quality Assurance
Warranty & quality assurance
Every new trailer ships with a written limited warranty, not a verbal promise. New Dori Trailers trailers carry a 12-month structural warranty against manufacturing defects in the chassis and bodywork.
Equipment fitted to a trailer — refrigeration, gas, electrical components — carries the relevant component manufacturer’s warranty, which may have different terms and periods. Contact us first and we will help direct the claim to the right supplier instead of leaving you to work it out.
Quality assurance happens before a trailer is offered for sale, not after a complaint. Each unit is tested on site: brakes, coupler and lights under power, water and gas lines pressure-checked, refrigeration pulled down to temperature, and the fit-out inspected against the approved layout drawing. The results are logged against your trailer’s serial number, so a claim can be checked against exactly what left our facility.
Full terms, timeframes and the claims process are set out on the Return & Refund Policy page.
What’s covered
- Manufacturing defects in the chassis, frame, bodywork and our own fit-out workmanship.
- Faults that appear in normal use within the warranty period, reported with your order number and build record.
- Fitted equipment, which carries the relevant component manufacturer’s warranty — we help you lodge the claim.
What’s not covered
- Damage from an accident, overloading, incorrect towing or use beyond the rated capacity.
- Normal wear and tear, including tyres, brake pads, bulbs, seals and other consumable parts.
- Repairs, alterations or fit-outs carried out by an unauthorised third party.
- Cosmetic damage, or rust that is not the result of a manufacturing defect.
07 · How Shipping & Delivery Work
How shipping & delivery work
Trailers are too large and too valuable to send as a parcel, so every order travels on insured freight to your nominated address. Here is exactly what happens after you confirm an order:

What delivery costs
Freight is priced by distance and trailer size, so it is not bundled into the listed price. We confirm the exact delivery fee in writing before you pay, and we never add it to your invoice after the fact.
Read the full Shipping Policy- 01
Confirmation
Within one business day we confirm stock or your build slot, the delivery fee and an estimated delivery date in writing, by email.
- 02
Build & handling
In-stock trailers usually dispatch within 5-10 business days. Custom and made-to-order builds typically take 4-8 weeks, depending on the fit-out, and you get progress updates along the way.
- 03
Freight transit
Your trailer travels by insured freight to your nominated address, anywhere in South Africa — typically 2–5 business days on the road, depending on the route. We pass on the carrier details and tracking.
- 04
Delivery & handover
The trailer is delivered during business hours, and someone needs to be available to receive it. Check it against the delivery note with the driver, and we will walk you through the handover checklist and controls.
Delivery is currently available to addresses across South Africa. If you are outside our standard routes, tell us where you are before ordering and we will confirm whether we can deliver and what it will cost.

09 · Why Remanufacturing Matters
Why remanufacturing matters
The expensive part of a trailer is not the equipment — it is the steel. A chassis, axles, beams and body panels can outlast three kitchens, two fridges and a change of business.
Remanufacturing means rebuilding an existing trailer instead of scrapping it. We strip the body back to the bare chassis, inspect and treat the frame, then replace running gear, panels, insulation, plumbing, wiring and equipment, and rebuild the unit to a current specification. The steel you already own stays in service, and the parts that actually wear out are replaced with new ones.
That is why a professionally remanufactured trailer can be sold for meaningfully less than an equivalent new build while still carrying a real inspection record — and why it keeps thousands of kilograms of steel out of the scrap yard for another decade of work.
We also remanufacture customer trailers. If your layout no longer fits how you trade, or a fleet unit has been parked up, we can re-spec it rather than sell you a replacement you do not need. And when a rebuild is not the right answer, we say so.
When we tell you to build new
A rebuild only makes sense on a sound foundation. If the chassis is cracked or rusted through, the geometry has moved, or the load rating no longer suits what you need to carry, we will tell you to build new rather than sell you a repair that will not last.
- Frame inspected and treated before anything is refitted
- Running gear, brakes, seals and consumables replaced with new parts
- Rebuilt to an approved layout and checked like a new unit
