Enclosed Cargo Trailer (Model 29001)

Model 29001 is a 20 ft x 6 ft tandem-axle enclosed van trailer - about 6 m x 1.8 m internally - with a 6 ft ceiling and a spring-assist rear ramp. It is the biggest enclosed trailer in the range and the one built for volume: pallets, appliances, furniture, exhibition stands, sound and lighting rigs, and long, light cargo that needs to travel dry and arrive secure.

The spring-assist ramp is the difference between a trailer that gets used and one that gets avoided. A 20 ft trailer's ramp is heavy, and a spring-assist mechanism lets one person lower and lift it safely rather than needing two people and a good mood. Inside, the ceiling height of 6 ft means most people can walk in and load standing up, which changes how a trailer like this is used on a daily basis - it becomes a mobile store rather than a box you climb into.

Four ladder racks on the roof carry conduit, pipe, ladders and stock lengths outside the load space, and internal tie rails give straps somewhere to anchor at working height so a part-load does not shift. The floor is checker plate, which takes pallet truck wheels and heavy feet without the surface breaking up, and the sides are smooth panels that are straightforward to brand.

Running gear is heavy-duty: 50 mm solid square axles on rocker roller suspension with four-wheel electric brakes, a 1 500 mm drawbar, and new 14 inch Sunraysia wheels with new light-truck tyres. Four-wheel electric braking is what makes a 20 ft trailer safe to tow loaded - the brakes are doing the work, not the tow vehicle's front discs. A spare wheel and 8 inch jockey wheel are included, and lighting is 12 V LED.
