Mobile Cold Room 500kg

The mobile cold room 500kg is a bulk cold-storage room on wheels: an insulated compartment sized to hold roughly 500 kilograms of product, with a full-height lockable insulated door, a wash-down interior and tandem running gear strong enough to move a fully loaded room between sites.

This is the unit for operations that need cold storage at a place that has none. Farmers and smallholders use it to hold meat and produce between market days; butchers and abattoirs use it for overflow when the fixed cold room is full; caterers and event operators park it behind a kitchen as extra capacity; food producers use it for delivery runs and for holding stock in the field during harvest.

Construction is a composite insulated box on a welded steel chassis, with insulated floor, walls and ceiling, sealed internal joints and a heavy insulated door with a lockable over-centre latch. The interior is finished for wash-down so it can be cleaned between different product types without leaving odours behind, and the door seal is replaceable when it eventually wears.

Cooling is supplied by an external refrigeration set sized to the compartment and the temperature band you need - typically chilled (0 to 8 degrees Celsius) for meat, dairy and produce, with a frozen specification available for long-term storage. Air is circulated by a fan-forced evaporator so the temperature holds evenly from floor to ceiling rather than stratifying, and a digital thermostat with a visible display lets you see the set point and the current temperature at a glance.

The trailer rides on a braked tandem axle with leaf springs and 14 inch light-truck tyres, which keeps a heavy, dense load stable on the road. Power is 220 V shore power as standard, with a battery and inverter setup or a generator bay available for sites without mains power. Forklift access is possible on the door side with a loading ramp on request; otherwise loading is manual through the full-height door.
