2.4m Mobile Food Trailer

The 2.4m mobile food trailer is our entry point to trading and the unit most first-time vendors in South Africa start with. It is a complete, fully enclosed kitchen on wheels: an insulated white body on a welded chassis, a propped serving hatch that becomes an awning while you trade, a stainless serving counter and enough workspace behind it for one operator to cook, plate and take money without leaving the trailer.

Because the working length is only 2.4m, the unit fits into a single parking bay, tows comfortably behind a light vehicle such as a Corsa bakkie or a small SUV, and can be moved between sites by one person using the jockey wheel and coupling. Tandem running gear is used even at this size, which keeps the trailer planted on the road and spreads the load over four wheels instead of two - a meaningful difference in crosswinds and on gravel access roads to farms and townships.

The interior is finished in food-safe, wipe-down surfaces. The serving counter is stainless steel with a folded front edge, the walls and ceiling are clad in easy-clean panelling, and the floor is a sealed non-slip deck that can be hosed out at the end of service. There is a dedicated housing for a chest freezer or under-counter fridge, space for a two-plate gas cooker or griddle, and a run of overhead shelving for stock, packaging and cleaning materials.

Outward opening hatch panels run on gas struts and lock down for travel, so the trailer closes up watertight and secure at night. The white body takes decals, vinyl wraps or painted branding extremely well, and we deliver the unit wired, plumbed and ready for the equipment of your choice to be fitted on site.

This unit is also the usual starting point for roadside coffee, boerewors rolls, chip-and-dip, vetkoek, pancakes and small-scale catering. Tell us the menu when you order and we will set the hatch height, counter run and equipment clearances to suit it.
