Livestock / Cattle Trailer (Model 00002)

Model 00002 is a 16 ft x 6 ft 6 tri-axle trailer with a 3500 kg ATM that works as both a livestock trailer and a car carrier: a removable 5 ft high heavy-duty stock crate bolts onto a full checker-plate deck with a 3-way rear door, and comes off again to leave a flat deck with ramps for vehicles and machinery.

For livestock work, the crate is the specification that matters. A 5 ft high crate is tall enough to carry cattle securely without them testing the top rail, and it is fitted with a 3-way rear door - full swing-out for loading groups, half-slide for handling animals individually, and a drop ramp inside the sliding door for walking stock on and off. A removable front stop bar and internal dividers (available on request) let you separate animals by size or owner during transport.

The deck underneath is full checker plate, with 10 inch high sides, a reinforced 1 500 mm drawbar and a winch post so the trailer can also be used as a car carrier. Two 7 ft ramps slide under the deck for vehicle loading, tie-down rails run along the sides into the guards, and four heavy-duty hanger tie-down points are positioned for lashing wheels and axles.

Tri-axle running gear with six-wheel electric brakes and an electrical break-away unit carries a full load of cattle - a heavy, moving load with a high centre of gravity - far more safely than a two-axle trailer of the same length. Heavy-duty rocker roller suspension, 50 mm square axles, a 5-6 mm thick chassis and new 14 inch Sunraysia wheels with new light-truck tyres complete the running gear, and a spare wheel and 8 inch jockey wheel are included.
