3.4m Tandem Food Trailer

This 3.4m concession trailer is the heavy-duty version of our 3.4m food trailer: the same generous working length, but on a braked tandem axle with four wheels under a loaded body, and fitted with roof extraction as standard. It is the unit for vendors whose equipment load - fryers, griddles, ovens, fridges, generators - puts a single axle out of its depth, and for anyone towing long distances between towns or over gravel access roads.

Tandem running gear does three things for a working trailer. It spreads the load across four tyres instead of two, so the body sits level and the tyres run cooler on long trips. It keeps the unit tracking straight at highway speed, which matters on a high-sided box that catches crosswinds. And it means a single tyre failure still leaves you on three wheels and a hub, rather than on the rim.

The trailer is finished in red as standard and built as a full concession kitchen: a lift-up serving window with a stainless counter, a side entry door, a work run down the service wall, a fridge or freezer bay, and overhead storage. Roof extraction is fitted rather than optional, with the duct point and fan mounting ready for a hood - which is the piece of equipment almost every hot-food vendor adds in the first month.

A lockable equipment box is mounted on the drawbar, keeping gas bottles, generators, cables, cleaning chemicals and rubbish bags outside the food compartment. That separation of clean and dirty storage is one of the details health inspectors and event organisers look for, and it frees interior space for the equipment that actually earns money.

The chassis is a fully welded steel ladder frame with a 1 500 mm drawbar, insulated composite body panels, sealed non-slip flooring and wipe-clean interior linings. Electrical and water systems are installed to the same standard as the rest of the range, and the trailer can be specified with additional plug points, larger tanks and gas plumbing before it is dispatched.
