Flat Top Trailer (Model 58081)

Model 58081 is the big one: a 16 ft x 6 ft 6 tandem-axle flat-top trailer with a 4500 kg ATM, a 5-6 mm thick chassis, a 70 mm tow ball coupling and four-wheel electric brakes. It is a commercial deck trailer for operators who move serious volume or weight and need a trailer that is rated for what they load onto it.

The chassis thickness is the headline. A 5-6 mm frame is roughly twice the material of a light utility trailer, and it is the difference between a deck that stays straight after a few years of loaded towing and one that develops a sag in the middle. The 70 mm coupling and 4500 kg ATM put this trailer in the class where the tow vehicle, licence and braking setup genuinely matter - which is why the electric brakes and breakaway unit are standard rather than optional.

The deck is checker plate with a 3 ft high removable headboard, tie-down rails on the sides beneath the tray, and heavy-duty rocker roller suspension with 50 mm square axles underneath. New 16 inch six-stud Landcruiser-style wheels with new light-truck tyres carry the load, and the reinforced 1 500 mm drawbar gives the trailer the length it needs behind a big bakkie or truck to track straight at highway speed.

Lighting is 12 V LED including side clearance markers, and the trailer is finished for commercial work with safety chains, mudguards and reflectors. Tie-down rails sit beneath the tray so straps and load binder chains pull against structure rather than against the edge of the deck.

Typical use is agricultural bulk transport, steel and pipe delivery, plant and equipment haulage, timber and building material distribution - anywhere a load is heavy, long, and needs to arrive without having shifted a metre.
