Tandem Box Trailer (Model 77655)

Model 77655 is an 8x5 tandem box trailer built for the kind of work that kills a light trailer: garden and building rubble, building materials, lawnmowers and equipment, and loads that have to be loaded up a ramp rather than lifted over a side. It pairs a low-side checker-plate body with a 1500 mm drop-down mesh ramp and an enclosed mesh box on the front, which together make it a load-and-tip-on-the-ramp trailer rather than a hand-load-only box.

The running gear is what separates this model from a cheap tandem: two 45 mm solid axles each rated at 1400 kg, on five-leaf rocker-roller suspension, with mechanical disc brakes and an AL-KO 50 mm quick-release override coupling with a handbrake. That combination gives a trailer that tracks straight when loaded, tows without snaking, and can be unhitched and parked securely on a slope instead of relying on chocks.

The body is fully welded throughout - not spot-welded panel work - with a checker-plate floor and checker-plate mudguards, a 1500 x 100 x 50 mm drawbar, and a primer-zinc rust treatment applied before the dark charcoal topcoat. The front mesh box (1500 x 1440 x 700 mm) keeps tools, fuel cans, straps and loose equipment together and enclosed, so nothing walks off while you are working at the back of the trailer.

A tie-down rail runs along both sides for straps and rope, and the trailer is finished with commercial hardware: a 7-pin flat plug, mudflaps, reflectors, two safety chains with D-shackles, and ADR-pattern LED lighting that works off any tow vehicle. A spare wheel is included and every wheel is a brand new 185R14 light-truck fitment, which matters because tyre failures on loaded box trailers almost always trace back to old, mismatched or under-rated rubber.

It tows behind a normal bakkie or SUV and is equally at home on a farm, around a building site, in a garden-service operation or as a general-purpose business trailer that has to work every day.
